About Children of the Trees
I’m Claire, the creator behind Children of the Trees.
I’m a wife and mother to three, a daughter and two sons. We live in the beautiful Waiarapa and are blessed to be bringing up our children on a farm in Waiarapa’s eastern hill country.
My love for wooden toys and décor started after the birth of my first child. I was drawn to not only the aesthetics of the wood, but the nature in which it is timeless. I knew that my investment in wooden toys would mean that they would be passed down from generation to generation.
After having my last son Micah, I was inspired to be able to create my own beautiful and affordable wooden toys and décor for other children, just like my own.
Just like our children, Children of the Trees toys also start their life in the hills of one of New Zealand’s many pine forests. Harvested, milled and supplied to our local timber supplier, the magic beings when the wood reaches our hands. Individually cut, sanded and painted, our timber evolves from our design to its new life, as a toy in the hands of your child.
